Where are the near-billion in the dark?
As shown in this map, virtually all of the Americas, Austrailia, Europe, Russia, and the Middle East are 100% electrified. Significant parts of India, Central Asia, and Asia-Pacific, however, are not. In Africa, the major-ity of the continent is less than 50% electrified. The EOE Foundation™ is focused on these areas, and is on a mission to empower those in the dark with free, off-grid, low-voltage electricity. We do this using profits from EOE to build, and deploy Empowered Crates™ to these areas. Each Empowered Crate™ contains solar panels, low voltage LED lights, wiring, and in many cases, an internet router.
The EOE Foundation™ is a stand-alone US 501(c)(3) not for profit organization which:
Is largely funded by profits from Empowered Over Ethernet, Inc. (EOE)
Receives monetary and product donations from vendors/partners of EOE
Receives donations from individuals, trusts, and companies
Partners with governments local to areas in need
Manages the creation, distribution, installation, and support of Empowered Crates™
Remote villages like this
which can be home to hundreds or thousands of families each, exist throughout un-electrified regions of Asia and Africa. Many of these villages are without reliable sources of water or food as well. Charities exist to help communities like this with water and food, but The EOE Foundation™ aims to empower these communities in a different way; with light, knowledge, and hope.
The EOE Foundation™ seeks-out villages like this, and works with them to provide Empowered Crates™ for each home. Every Empowered Crate™ comes with solar panels, low voltage LED lights, wiring, and - where practical - a wireless internet repeater/router and tablets.

What is the difference between you and the nearly billion people in this world who live without electricity? According to The EOE Foundation™, ‘absolutely nothing’, except of course that you have electricity. Not only does The EOE Foundation™ provide the means for these individuals to be empowered, we work with partner organizations to ensure they are training and educated on to most responsibly maximize their use of these new tools.
