01 PoE Explained.png

Low Voltage systems send electricity through your home or building using small guage wire and/or ethernet cable.

Power Over Ethernet (PoE), and it’s not new. An ethernet switch sends both data and electricity in a single cable, just like a land-line phone cable.

Power Over Ethernet (PoE) has been around for decades. PoE most commonly powers office phones and security cameras, but in recent years has expanded to power lighting and additional devices. Low Voltage Lighting systems use this and other tried-and-true technologies to power your lights. A PoE network switch sends both data and low voltage electricity through standard ethernet cables to lights, devices, and outlets. Outlets power lamps, phones, WiFi Access Points, cameras, and more.

By harnessing the tried-and-true efficiency and reliability of low voltage power,

We’re shattering tradition and ushering the new norm of power distribution for building lighting

Today’s LED lights are efficient. They use small amounts of electricity – a fraction of a high voltage electrical circuit’s capacity. High voltage electrical circuits are expensive, they contain large amounts of copper, and are installed using costly labor. With Empowered, materials and installation are less expensive; systems use cables with ~70% less copper, and because systems are fire-resistant and do not cause electrocution, installation is less expensive.

One System | All Devices

  • SAVES MONEY
costs less up front, and perpetually through energy savings

  • EMPOWERS WITH MORE CONTROL
every light circuit and/or device is individually controlled and programmable

  • IS SAFER
reduced risk of fire and electric shock

  • HAS MANY OTHER ADVANTAGES

With Empowered, all of your devices are Low Voltage (i.e. 18/2 or ethernet cable). This dramatically simplifies installation, maintenance, reliability, and safety. One crew can install all of your systems, and one platform, can monitor your devices.

We are on a mission to empower the world with low-voltage lighting.

'“The people trying to make this world worse are not taking a day off; why should I? Light up the Darkness.''
- Bob Marley

Low Voltage Power is the ‘no-brainer’ evolution of traditional high voltage systems. It costs less upfront; costs less perpetually, allows for increased control; is safer; and marries well with technologies like solar power. Low Voltage Lighting is the way of the future.
